Bring what you can build.

Engineers, machinists, A&P mechanics, programmers, technical writers, self-taught builders. A degree is optional. The work isn't.

How it works

  1. Pick a project. Open work will go in AOSSI's public repository once it exists.

  2. Read the contributor terms. Licenses, the contractor agreement, the export-control policy. All of it, ideally.

  3. Do the work. Design, code, test, document. The repository history will record who did what.

  4. Get credited. If you're on a product's team and it earns, you're paid a share of its net revenue. If nothing earns, nothing is owed.

How builders are paid

Contributors will be independent contractors. The only pay is a share of a product's net revenue, for those on its team, if there is any. If nothing earns, nothing is owed. The share is a claim to net revenue, not ownership of the product or its designs, which stay open under their licenses. The terms are still in progress, pending attorney review.

These terms are drafts, pending attorney review. Final terms will be published before anyone signs a contributor agreement.

Export control

Space hardware can fall under ITAR and EAR export rules. AOSSI plans to review every release before it goes out, and plans to publish nothing controlled without authorization.

No degree? Start at acme.academy

Planned: certificates of understanding, so anyone can qualify to work on AOSSI projects. Planned means not yet.

Ready? Tell AOSSI what you build.

AOSSI is a venture of Regardless Industries (in formation). Its designs will be published under open licenses.
